This coming Saturday, October 20, 2012 and the following Saturday, October 27, 2012, from 1 to 4 p.m. the historic P&IN Railway Depot Museum will be open to the public. Things to see include historic photos and exhibits reflecting life in early New Meadows and Meadows Valley. The exhibit was put together in honor of the 100 Year Celebration of the opening on the P&IN Railway Depot and beginning of the City (Village at the time) of New Meadows. On sale at the depot is the Adams County Historical Society’s newest historical book entitled “Links To Our Past” by author and society member Carla Barham Standley. Also on sale is the society’s “Meadows Valley Barns” that is a record of the valley’s historic barns and brief biography of the barn and families who have owned them. It is also an opportunity to see the beautiful restoration, that was completed in August, of the Lobby, Ladies Waiting Room and Ticket Agent’s Office on the 1st floor of the depot. Admission is free. Donations appreciated.
